    Nautralization question

to those who just applied for their wife/husband naturalization can you give me some info or advice as I am applying for one soon (may be Aug. as my hubby still short of cash as we need atleast about £800 the most) very very expensive

As I reading the requirements: Im a spouse of UK citizen
    My husband passport
    My passport
My certificate of Life in The UK test
    2 referees

    * What form should I download as BIA keep on revising forms?
    * Do I need to send my marriage contract/birth certificate?
    * How about number of absences outside UK? some said that absences is a factor in applying.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

    Flo

oh wrong link that was not for spouses of brits

    Residential requirements

In order to demonstrate the residential requirements for naturalisation you need to:

    * have been resident in the United Kingdom for at least three years (this is known as the residential qualifying period); and
    * have been present in the United Kingdom three years before the date of your application; and
    * have not spent more than 270 days outside the United Kingdom during the three-year period; and
    * have not spend more than 90 days outside the United Kingdom in the last 12 months of the three-year period; and
    * have not been in breach of the immigration rules at any stage during the three-year period.

    sorry

You have to use form AN (Application for Naturalisation). Here's the link http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/si...ty/form_an.pdf (FORM) and the guidance http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/si...y/guide_an.pdf

Requirements for naturalisation if you are married to or the civil partner of a British citizen

    Naturalisation
This page provides details of the requirements you need to meet for us to naturalise you as a British citizen. The information on this page is only relevant if you are married to or the civil partner of a British citizen; you should read the page on standard requirements for naturalisation if this does not apply to you.
You should read the information on this page before you make an application for naturalisation. You will need to pay a fee when you make your application. If you make an application for naturalisation and it is unsuccessful because you are not eligible for naturalisation, we will not refund your fee.
If you meet the requirements for naturalisation you should go to the applying for naturalisation as a British citizen section for details on how to apply.
There are seven requirements you need to meet before you apply:

    • you are aged 18 or over; and
    • you are of sound mind; and
    • you can communicate in English, Welsh or Scottish Gaelic to an acceptable degree; and
    • you have sufficient knowledge of life in the United Kingdom; and
    • you are of good character; and
    • you are the husband, wife or civil partner of a British citizen; and
    • you meet the residential requirements; or
    • your husband, wife or civil partner is in Crown or designated service outside the United Kingdom.

Hope it will help you. God bless.

Thank you all very much for the replies Atleast I don't need to submitt all the documents I submitted when I applied for my ILR 2 yrs ago.

Another Q's pls. As you know its common in Phils loads of problem about BC due to wrong spelling and its hard to change it. I am one of those who has a problem regarding my maiden name spelling like its should be B but its V in my BC/MC bec you can't change it that easy. Though when I applied for my ILR I did send my MC with my application w/o a problem. Do you think HO didn't not notice it or they don't bother about it since I am married now and Im using my husband's name already...do you think do I need to write a letter of explanation together with my application regarding the discrepancy of my maiden name in my MC?

    Thank you again
