Hi Folks,....Just a quickie!..lol I intend to visit Butuan in the near future to meet a very special person for the first time! Could i use her address as a place of residence during my stay, or would i have to produce evidence of a hotel booking?......Thanks

Yes, you can use her address, and no you are not required to show proof of a hotel booking. One time, I put Malacañang Palace, Manila as my place of residency on the landing card, but the immigration guy didn't notice.

Personally I would always advise to stay with the relatives etc. I did that on my first visit years back. It helps one get respected in the area. I can walk around the barangay in Butuan and probably have several invitations to come in for 'merienda'. It is a pity that some foreigners feel above staying in the local community.
