Well there is no work that is easy, even applying for your partner's visa is expensive too!

Im afraid your partner must get her marriage annuled in the Phils first before she can get married to you.

There are few members in the forum have shared their experienced about annulment, so please search the forum.

She got married in the Philippines and so get her marriage annuled in the Philippines!

If you marry your partner in the UK without sorting out her first marriage you/your partner might get charge of 'bigamist'.

Now I'm hoping that what I said here is not wrong.

Lady J is correct 100%. I'm afraid you'll have to bite the bullet and get your g/f to get that annullment first. Don't try to break the rules, its not worth the hassle.

If this was allowed and if you get married in UK, your partner's currrent husband can sue her when she goes to Philippines. When she goes to Philippines, in the eyes of the government she's married there. SO you cant say that the divorce will be only recognise here in UK. You might ended up like David Scott's case.

Can please someone give the link of David Scott's thread in the forum.

I doubt it very much, as her marriage was done under Philippines law, so an anullment can only be done according to Philippine law.

    Hi bttrwrth!

i went through annulment early last year and we got married with my hubby last April 2008. It took me only 7 months it didnt cost me a lot compared to other lawyers. I even paid him in 3 gives! If you want, I can refer you to my lawyer.

Do it the right way if you truly love her. It will worth the money

    Hi bttrwrth,
There is a cheaper and faster alternative than annulment if your gf no longer has contact with her ex and hasn't seen him for more than four years, it's called Presumptive Death, read up on it if her situation fits the bill.

    Cheers,
    Iain.

another way might be, if you could apply for a unmarried partner visa, but you would have to go and live with her in the phils for 2 years, and what would the phils gov think of any adultry and would the embassy grant one

    Hi bttrwrth,

email me to my yahoo account or message me to my ym if you do have a ym ID and I will refer him to you. He's expert in annulment cases,I'm so glad I found him, it just cost me around 2000 pounds and 7 months! Maybe he could help you as well. My friend also just got her annulment and we have the same lawyer. It took only 9 months to get her annulment. I would be glad to help you
