Hi Joe, How about if I have my International license but don't know much how to drive. Do I need to apply license here ? Can I use my international? How long? when you first come to the uk, you can drive for upto a year on an international license, and you need to tell your car insurance company your driving on a international license.
you cannot use a international license after 1yr of when you first came to the uk, if your a resident of the uk, some people think you can go back to the phils or where ever and come back to the uk and drive for upto a year again, you cannot, you have to pass both your theory and practical test before you can drive again.
and driving on a int license after 1yr of first coming to the uk, could get you into serious trouble and its possible it could effect any visa apps you make eg FLR/ILR if you are taken to court and convicted of driving without a valid license and invalid insurance, and your car could be crushed
and if you've got a British passport, you cannot drive with a international license in the uk !

This thread certainly makes me feel wanting of driving regularly again just like the old days.Started driving when I was 18 but seldom drive now. Sold my old rustic car before making the big move of living and working here in Baguio City. I usually take public jeepney now and enjoying the bumpy ride.
