What camera

Very nice, but what would get used more, that is my question!
To be honest, I don't get on with Canon, just got rid of a 400, never used it, nothing wrong with it, and thousands of people swear by them, but I couldn't feel comfortable with it.

But back to the question, am I going to have better memories with an easy to use compact, or with a dSLR and lenses to carry around????
