    Visa fee retun!

Hi all first time to post but I have been lurking and reading for some time, thanks for all the useful tips and pointers

I'll quickly fill you in on the details but I have an urgent request for information I cant find anywhere on the forum(believe me I searched)

My wife and I met back in January 2007 whilst both working elsewhere.
Spending several months together until my contract expired and I returned home.

Since then I have visited the Philippines twice the last trip to marry my wonderful filipina. In between we were granted a visit visa for the Uk and spent 5 wonderful months together

Now my problem starts today. We have carefully assembled all the relevant documentation, evidance etc etc, for our application. All the forms are filled in and ready.
Kris pays the visa fee at the bank and waits one day before she can contact the VFS for an appointment to drop everything off (Thursday 10th July) She trys to call many times over on the Friday but without success to make said appointment and finally calls me to express her concern.
Without wasting any more time I sugguest we make the appoinment "online" if she is having no luck trying to contact them on the telephone. So we duely make an appointment for this Monday 14th July 12 noon.
So today she arrives in good time to drop off the papers. She is told no sorry we are no longer taking Settlement visa's??? You'll have to re-scehdule your appointment.
The problem now is the fee we have paid in good faith is now not going to be correct cause as of the 15th they change the visa fee. Kris did explain this and was told you can pay the difference over the counter to the VFS office with your application, but that is only valid for 10 days from the date you paid originally at the bank?
I checked online as she is now away from home and without her PC and the first appointment available is Tues next week. Outside our 10 day window, so now where do we go we have a payment slip from the bank thats useless and unable to get an appointment inside the 10 days. So I have to ask how do we go about refunding the 46000 peso's and then go back to the bank and pay the new fee for Tuesday next week. Are the VFS the people to refund it, or the embassy?
Not the usual sort of question to ask here but maybe someone might have had a similar experience.

If theres no chance to refund your fee in the bank, maybe she can try to go to Vfs without appointment but she need to be there very early for que. They accomodate people without appointment from 8:00 to 9:00 am only.I paid also in the bank and paid the difference over the counter (VFS)

    need help

HI can anyone advise me on my application to the Home Office?
I’m a Jamaican man living in the UK for approximately 7 years now; I initially got a visitor visa then change it to a student visa. I encountered financial difficulty whilst studying and consequently my visa ran-out by about 2years.

I’m now married with one 9 month old son, and the application has been with the Home Office for almost 2 years now. I’m deeply worried I may be sent back to Jamaica to apply for leave to remain there.
This would not be feasible when I take in to account to financial implication of that.
Does anyone have an idea when I might get a decision on the application? I’m trying to get accommodation for my family and the has been really difficult
My wife (who is born in the UK) and I try to apply for a council house, but the council is asking for my status, so that is at a dead-end.
It’s really difficult but I will remain optimistic about the outcome of the application.
The web site is doing a terrific service by providing the medium for people to express the concerns on immigration matters.
    Can someone please reply ASAP?
