Caning for Illegal entry & Unlawful overstay

Folks, VISA are generally expensive, sometimes a complicated process and long waiting times - mainly thanks to many illegal immigrants and overstayers in the UK.

Just take a look at how some countries, such as Singapore take action:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caning_in_Singapore

Illegal entry into Singapore: At least three strokes
Unlawful overstay in Singapore for over ninety days: At least three strokes

    Cheers,
    Ben B

Solves the immigration problem we have. Zero tolerance in Singapore, works a treat.

over stayers are suppose to be facing a mandatory ban from coming to the uk, but the gov is giving them til oct to leave the country, and the over staying shouldn't effect future visa apps

How is the goverment going to enforce such a ban? large deposit?

even better the gov is thinking of giving a caught illegal immigrant a choice of either paying a large deposit or going to a detention centre , if they do a runner and don't leave the country, they lose their deposit

it cost £11,000 to remove an illegal immigrant from the uk, so why don't the gov, license some bounty hunters and give them a few £k for catching each of them and sending them back to their own country in economy class

there are many people out there who came to the uk on a 6 month visit visa or a student visa, and years after their visa expired they are still here. if they manage to stay in the uk for 14yrs then they are allowed to stay and get ILR

oh the ban will be enforced, by them being refused any visa to come to the uk from btw 1 and 10 yrs !!

I'm game to be a part-time bounty hunter. I think it will work if goverment reward people to expose illegals and their homeland (just in case they destroy all their documents).

A tag with a timebomb to go off in six months and 1 day the passport exit control would hold the key.
