Me British guy, met filipina Vimvie, fell in love, flew filipina Vimvie to Britain on fiancee visa, we married in Britain!

Vimvie recently recieved her two year residents permit!

Here's my problem: Vimvie is still holding a philippines passport with her old name in it NOT her new married name....? Where do I go from here guys 'cause I haven't got a clue!!

Hope I'm not boring everyone with a question that's probably got an obvious answer!!!

Contact the Phill embassy

people who have gone though the process can help you more but basically Vimvie just asks them to change it and collects it.

The embassy is easy to get to from chessington

Waterloo and over to trafalgar sq

Just go to the Philippine embassy in London,take your marriage certificate,couple of passport photos,these have to be on a royal blue background.
Then I think they send it to Philippines to be processed and takes about eight weeks.
If im wrong other people will let you in here.

mine I just ammend it to the Phil embassy in London thru post before and sending our marriage cert. actually, been married for a few years now I havent change it yet to my married name I'll just wait till I get a British passport this year hopefully

Make it VERY clear what her name is when, otherwise it is 50/50 they'll include her orginal surname.

no need to worry about that nigel there's no problem in it ,don't spend a money to change coz after 2years she can apply for citizenship at that time you can change it to married name

I submitted this req:
1. My passport.
2. passport ammendment form.
3. marriage cert. / original and 3 photocopies.
4. passport3 photocopies and hubby passport 3 photocopies.
5. 3 photos passport size of mine and hubby for Report marriage.
6. Fee £15 passport amend plus £18 for the report of marriage.

thanks everyone!! You've been a great help....so not everyone bothers to get their passport amended, they just wait until they get british citizenship huh?
