If she has her visa I can't think of any reason why she would need a return ticket.
One thing you might want to check is that whenever I book flight tickets online with a credit card it always states that the card holder must be one of the travellers on the itinerary. Never used KLM so their policy could be different but I think it's certainly something to be aware of.
