ive just got off the phone from klm booking,i was trying to book a flight for elena, the lady on the phone has told me due to new phils government ruleing ,we can no longer accept booking from uk for someone else traveling from the phils, and the person traveling from manila will have to book and pay for there flight from there
has anybody experienced this ?
That is usually the way due to security.

let ur girl book from phil to hongkong then book for her from hongkong to london. i found it much cheaper. british airways from hongkong to london. and from phil to hongkong hv her book cebu pacific.
Things have probably changed now, but back in 2005, I booked Elsa a flight Manila to Hong Kong with Cathay, and it was booked online. I only found out afterwards that the cardholder should be present at Manila before boarding the flight, HOWEVER, on calling Cathay Head Office in Hong Kong, they confirmed that I could either fax a copy of my credit card to Cathay main office at Heathrow or personally show it to them at Heathrow (luckily I was travelling to Hong Kong that very same day, so it was just a short walk over to T3). Dependant on the Airline and i guess the security status at the very moment you fly.
The last thing you want is an incident to occur and them to flag your mahals ticket as suspicous due to the nature it was purchased.
I had this problem booking ticket for Ruby last September. In the end I sent her money to buy a ticket from Davao to Singapore while I booked the Singapore to Heathrow flight online.

on further investigation i was able to book the flight via klm phils site,
we have the e ticket confirmation so its a case of waiting now untill the 8th august

One way some people have found a way round is to get a credit card in the Wifes name, most cc's allow you to do it. In theory you can have one in the name of micky mouse. Send the cc out unactivated then if booking via email you can do it ot your Mahal rings up herself.
Occasionally some cc's are not accepted for example with cebu air or whatever they are called but from experience the large international airlines there is no problem.
