Sorry, a bit late with reply.
Lady BBJ arrived into Gatwick in late April.
No delays (perhaps because one of the earliest flights in).
Pleasant older immigration woman briefly asked her a few questions.
(my full name, my address, how long are you staying, is he outside
waiting for you)
Not asked for, or about X-Ray
About 35-40mins all told from aircraft landing to the arrivals door.
thanx for the info, a big help....
im still waiting for my visa, its my 12weeks now...hope i will get it soon..
need more prayers.....wish we are include on the prayers of all the people here in the forum......THANKS to all:cwm38::)

i think the re-structure is driven by the recession... they are probably downsizing -- hence the move to have everything processed here in the philippines (as the regional hub). :-O very unfortunate for all of us... :-(
hopefully when the april visas start coming in, we will all be happy... :-) i am also applying for a visit visa this week so my sister and i can go together hopefully by next month. :-)

they are probably just claiming to "increase staffing" to manage possible complaints re: application backlogs. let's just expect the worst but hope for the best. :-)

Hi everyone:)
I have just checked my online application status before i logged in here in the forum.
And it says there: "YOUR APPLICATION IS READY FOR COLLECTION; PLEASE VISIT THE UK VISA APPLICATION CENTRE TO COLLECT THE SAME..."
Im a bit confused. What does that mean? is my application refused or approved?:Erm:
It seemed different from what I have read from other's which says "processed passport ready for collection"
Anyway, whatever the outcome of it, i will keep you guys posted:)
It's too late to go there at this time it's 5:30 Pm here in Manila. I will go to UKVAC tomorrow.
Wish me all the luck and please pray for me. I REALLY CANNOT WAIT TO BE WITH THE MAN I LOVE MOST.:)

when you are approved. how long does it take to get from the embassy to yourself via courier service? I have booked my flights already and have allowed 15 weeks for the process. The flight was £450 rather than normal £780 so worth the chance. I just hope I have enough time.
Thanks for everyone's help in this process.

Us too, but not feeling optimistic at all. Its just taking too long and should the application be refused, then thats 3 nearly 4 months down the drain.
Does anyone know if they have some sort of initial screening process?

Hi all, :Hellooo:
I agree its the "not knowing" how the application is going that gets to us, I switch my mobile phone on every morning hoping for an excited txt to say Jennifer has been told her visa is ready.
I have not been able to get anything from the online checker, have tried the two I know of. When I asked about it when I phoned they just confirmed the application was in the queue.

Hi again,:Hellooo:
Irecived a reply to my email today that gave me anouther link and also a different reference number.
You may track your application on our website www.vfs-uk-ph.com using your reference number and date of birth, click on the "Track your Application" on the home page.
On using it it worked:cwm12:
This message came up: "Your visa application has been forwarded to the British High Commission"
Is this just to say its in the Queue, or could it be good news?

I honestly believe that you are all just wasting your time.
From previous postings, and my experience, there are only TWO statuses.
1. "Your application has been forwarded to the Embassy"
(Which, as u submitted in person to VFS is obvious, but I guess they need
to do, to officially confirm)
and
2. the txt you get which says...."Your passport is available to collect"
As we are all too aware, the time between status 1 - 2 can be anything from
4 weeks to 14 weeks, but there will be NO news made available.
Status 1 NEVER changes... there is NO update ...until you get that txt.

To all those waiting, just hang on in there and be strong. I know how it feels - like it will never come. But it will.
My (Filipino) husband and I waited 10 weeks last year and I have to say, the status never changed on the visa website during the time I checked. My partner just received a call out of the blue one day to say it was ready and that his passport was being delivered to him.
Anyway, hope good things (and people) come to you all shortly!

Hi,:Hellooo:
Ours is from the 16th April and no answer given for the delay in the email reply they sent me, just that its been passe on!
If they are doing other countries to catch up with then and not processing the Filipino ones becouse they do not have the extra staff they said they were going to take on, what can we do?

The cost of a fiance visa has rose disgustingly in the last year. Maybe it is to pay for the extra storage costs of all the applications in the queue rather than more peeps to process.....

I was hoping to read a good news today but sadly, no successful applicant yet from our batch.Mine is on the 12th week and I haven't made any inquiry from the embassy. hey everyone! my sister's hubby called the embassy yesterday to follow-up status of their visa application. person who answered was nice enough to answer a few queries and i'd like to share them here for everyone's benefit. they said they are expecting to start april applicants next week. they are already 97% done with march applicants. hubby asked when the best time is to make another follow-up and they said to try again first week of august. hopefully there's already positive feedback by then.
she also said they are already doing some background check on all april applicants. they are hoping to make a decision in the coming weeks. i guess everyone will just have to wait a few more weeks.
regarding the 3 month target, girl said they are doing their best to meet that. while there are additional applicants coming from korea, japan, hong kong, etc, priority are filipino applications. :-) hope this gives a little encouragement to those who've been waiting for long weeks now! :-) my sister and her hubby were happy to know this at the very least.

Guess whay date they said they were now on, yes 26th March.
I then said I phoned 3 weeks ago and you were on that date, she asked me to hold then came back and said they do not know what the delay is but advised me to email them as well.

As I said they told me they were on the 26 March both 3 weeks ago and now, so it seems as they are also processing visa's for other countries, they must be leaving all or most of the PH ones to do others.

Your email has reached the Visa Enquiries Team at the UKBA Regional Visa Section for the Philippines, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong.
We are sorry to advise you that we are currently dealing with a high number of settlement applications at present. To be fair and consistent to all applicants, we are dealing with them all in strict chronological order. At the moment, we are dealing with applications received on 07 April.

I wasn't surprised that they will take this long coz of the student visa applicants that i saw last March 27 in VFS. I was in VFS at 3am and i was 139th on the list. And the number multiplied at 6am.
I'm still in touch with the other settlement applicants that I met last March 27 and the 31st, and none of them has their visa yet. I'm still patiently waiting but I admit that I am disappointed.
I phoned them earlier today and they said they are still processing the 1st week of April. They said that my application reached them on April 1, so I am in that batch and hopefully it will be released this week or next week. They also said that local background checking takes time. :Brick:

I have a friend whose also waiting for his Fiancee from the Philippines and he phoned the Embassy yesterday, he was told that the ECOs are working for April 7 applications. To think that there were 3 days bank holiday last April so it was not very busy as month March therefore the application submitted is not as bulky as month March.

i think arguing is part of the process we are not at interview yet august 20:BouncyHappy::BouncyHappy:th but we still argue over silly things:NoNo::icon_lol:

We are sorry to advise you that we are currently dealing with a high number of settlement applications at present. To be fair and consistent to all applicants, we are dealing with them all in strict chronological order. At the moment, we are dealing with applications received on 07 April.

yes except family permit ones are processed as a priority first, also work permits and visit visas are at the front to :doh

Send a letter to Phil Woolas Dave, tell him you will overlook the £1.19 he claimed on womens Tampons, the ladies clothing he claimed for, even the bottle of red wine he claimed for from Tesco during the recent MP's expenses debacle, but tell him to pull his finger out and do what he is paid to do,give him your details, ask him to look into the case(could you also ask why a guy needed tampons,I have a horrible idea why,it just made me shudder) :icon_lol:

I think most of us feel we should be complaining but I can only speak for myself that I am worried that could mean more problems and a possible longer delay!
I do feel helpless.

I was thinking the same.
Who in the Philippines UK embassy do we need to address our letters to?
Who is the top bloke and what is his address?
What are we paying £600 for? It definitely isnt anything to do with good service. If I told one of my customers he wasn't getting his order within the promised 3 months, and that it would be closer to 4 months (and more) then all hell would break loose.
(Wouldn't bother with local politicians about anything)

Hi all,
Can and how could we ask one of the Moderators what they think on the waiting times at present, I realise there is nothing direct they can do, but advice on how we as individuls should approach this would help a lot.
In my case my wife settlement visa applacation was placed on the 16th April we are now in week 15.
It is the "not knowing" of any progress except the first passed to the "British High Commision"message that is like a mental tourture!
I have phoned twice and emaild twice but have not been told anything that helps.
How can we plan when this just keeps going on day by day?

I've submitted my student (PBS - Tier 4) visa last 7 August, and still no result until now, and it seems like, according to the published processing time and their announcement, it'll take longer :-(.
23 July 2009: Reminder to points-based system Tier 4 student applicants. We are expecting a 90% increase in student applications from July to October 2009. To ensure a smooth and successful application process, we ask you to provide all the required documentation and supporting evidence as stated in the Tier 4 policy guidance. We also ask you to ensure that the visa letter from your education institution sponsor is accurate and provides all the information required. Please read the Tier 4 policy guidance before submitting your application. Failure to provide the correct documentation will result in refusal of your (Tier 4 student) application.
from http://www.vfs-uk-ph.com/.
Processing times: http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/processingtimes
School starts on 9 September at the university that I'll go to. I think I won't be able to arrive in the UK by then :-(
Is there any website where applicants can see what day is being processed by the UKBIA? If anyone noticed, in the VFS application centre, there's a little board there with this kind of information.
