Rio Ferdinand says he is mentally and physically ready to captain England at the World Cup after enduring an injury-hit season with Manchester United.

Fair enough Les my mistake you're right.

When does Capello have to pare the numbers down to those actually in the travelling squad ? Be interesting to see if he risks taking King

Hmm ... it never ceases to amaze me why so many football clubs in the UK employ non-British managers and team members. :NoNo: Is there REALLY such a shortage of home-grown talent? :rolleyes:

I trust Capello, no better man for the job, if he thinks Rio makes the best captain thats good enough for me :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Arthur, with the players its often cheaper to get one abroad, because as soon as a homegrown player shows some talent their clubs will put a ridiculous pricetag on their head. With the managers I guess its because they bring international experience with them.
