Patients are having to prove they are entitled to free NHS care when they go to hospital in a crackdown on health tourism.

Fairly encouraging reading until you reach this sickener:-

One surgery in Essex was recently told by human rights lawyers they would be taken to court if they refused to add a group of failed asylum seekers to their books.

i think your wife is entitled to it because she is married to a British citizen who is resident in the UK and has a visa that is valid for more than 6 months, while some of these health tourists are on visit visa's which are not really valid for more than 6 months (in one trip) thou there are exceptions :icon_lol:

:doh i missed out your wife has something called 'entry clearance' only given on settlement visa's, differnce btw a visit visa - one is 800gbp and the other about 80gbp, hey where's me pound sign gone ### :yikes::bigcry::doh
