am i right in thinking that Emma cannot have a isa in her own name and with her bank also, she pays tax and insurance but is not a uk citizen,

No Steve. Emma can open up an ISA
She just needs to be resident in the UK for tax purposes. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Just to clarify for other readers who may be interested.
Residency for tax purposes really just means that you live in UK for for 183 days or more in a tax year. Then you are a UK tax resident.
