People know the laws. They are there for the good of society as a whole.

Just obey them like everyone else, instead of being an awkward attention-seeking prick. :anerikke:

Want to represent and express some 7th century pedo's views, which are totally alien to those of your HOST society ? ... go and live in the country where that is the nationally accepted (or ENFORCED) practice.

I can imagine this may look heavy handed, but we dont know what was said to the woman, they may have suggested she leaves the Beach to remove the offending item of clothing, we dont know...

When i was in Davao i was wearing Shorts when i visited Immigration i was unaware of the ruling, but i respected it as it is enforced, had i known they i would not have done such a thing.. I can only say the security outside did not suggest i remove such an item of clothing ..

When I visit other Countries i respect there laws and such like, why cant other people do the same ??.

I understand what your saying Graham but the law has very recently been introduced and I think the police could have been more diplomatic and discreet:Erm:

11 April 2011 the law was introduced, I think the whole community of this faith knows by now. :ReadIt:

I wouldn't expect the police to be diplomatic or discreet with me if I was drinking alcohol in a public place where it was not permitted.

They would take it off me and pour it down the drain.

The law is the law.

I do get tired of these people coming into our countries and then whining when they can't set up a country within a country.

Try disobeying the law in Saudi Arabia or similar muslim societies.
Damned hypocrites.

Yeah..What a stupid damned law that is..
Fortunately it is not enforced where we live.
In Manila immigration there are vendors there renting out grimy track suit bottoms that look like they found on smokey mountain for short wearing tourists to rent by the hour.

She obviously bothered a lot of people on that French beach..I reckon the French are entitled to be sensitive given recent events there.
If a western woman went onto a public Muslim beach uncovered you might see something even uglier happen there.
When in Rome.
