Spouse Visa for UK

Hi! I am a filipino national married to a british woman. Having us both working at sea for several years I am returning to Manila soon to process my spouse visa. Has anyone any experience & success at applying? We understand the british embassy can be quite tough and so we are looking for any advice! Many thanks Cesar & Julie

Of course the british embassy webpage http://www.britishembassy.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/ShowPage&c=Page&cid=1025869670765 and the VFS page http://www.vfs-uk-ph.com/ (it seems to be broken today though) also contains the necessary forms and checklist needed.
