In my humble opinion it could be for many reasons. Many people-men and women go to different countries just to be get out from the county. if you see and put your eyes on the old man, you will really can ask why one person marry to this man and not to young one? But if you look at the country Philippines and its economic condition, you can find out there are many ways of getting out from Philippines to go other countries. And now, OFW to different countries will exist to your consideration.
People who's living condition is not fair for their hardwork always look for a better life of their family and for someone they love. They will not really leaving philippines, but just out for this country with the intention of coming back in the future bringing back their hope which in the future would be realized and materialized.
So why we asked if marrying to an older man is just a way to get out from the Philippines? We are hurting somebody and we are degrading those general people who really have pure intentions.
If one marries older men, that happens to Philippines as well, and i could see no wrong on that. One does not need to depend one's opinion or what countries tradition to whom she or he would wish to marry. The fact that his decision was important for him and gives him faith that it makes her/his life better and comfortable with happiness that is more than marrying younger guys in the Philippines.
