    Thank you once again.

Nothing to worry about on that score.

After a few months from arrival, you will have to send a small batch of documents to the Immigration office, including the husband passport.
The residence card is free of charge and valid for 5 years.
It will be a long wait, as ours was 6 months exactly to the day. But well worth it.

    Hi Aromulus,

Thank God you've answered my question.

I've been following your threads because I knew you've gone through all these things.

    Thank you for the reply.

By the way, what will happen to the EEA family permit after 6 months? I know that I can work with that permit, but how? what document I will show?

    Please enlighten me.

    Thank you so much again.

    Cheers,

    Chancy

Before you send your passport for a residence card, you can give yourself a couple of months to look for a suitable job.
The "Family Permit" sticker in the passport, states that you will be allowed to work, show that to any prospective employer and it will be ok.

Even after your passport is sent to the Immigration service, you will be covered by their reply letter of receipt, as it will say that you are allowed to work or/and start a business.
After a while of being married, I would suggest you try to obtain also Hungarian nationality without giving up your own, as this will make it much easier to visit other Schengen area countries.

Next year my wife will be entitled to Italian dual nationality, which will be just a little more than a formality.

    Hi aromulus,

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

I've been very busy preparing the documents needed for our marriage here in Malaysia. We are going to have it this coming first week of August. After that, I'll apply for family permit.

We have some questions with registering marriage in the UK. Do we have to register our marriage in the UK? Do you know how to go about it?

    Thank you so much!

    Regards,

    Chancy

As far as I am aware there is no need to register your marriage in the UK.

The only registrations that you are obliged to do, are in your own countries.
