When I was in the Phils, I suffered from a painful left shoulder (caused by the air-conditioning, I suspect) and my wife used to massage it [my shoulder, I mean :lol2:] with some sort of analgesic concoction obtained from a local pharmacy. Worked wonders, too!!she does that alright, massage my neck and back with ibuprufen gel.
Back in the UK, I'm still prone to the same trouble due, this time, to having the bedroom window open overnight in spite of our "wintry" June climate, and I'm having it rubbed with something called (would you believe?) 'Deep Freeze" ... available in two sizes of tube from Boots' Chemists.
