    Television Formats

Hello All. Can anyone please advise me of the Television format in Philippines is it the PAL format as here in UK or the SECAM format of the USA.

I have a large collection of DVD movies which I would like to take with me when I move to Davao in November, they appear only to be good for the UK so I am not sure if they would work in Davao. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

Television and video in the Philippines use the NTSC format, which is the same as the USA and Canada.

SECAM is the Standard European format.

NTSC is in use in Philly, and as Keith said...... That is what you need.

I hope you realize that it's the DVD player that has an PAL or NTSC output to the TV....some players can set between NTSC or PAL...

It's not like you get NTSC dvd's and PAL dvd's! Your dvd's will play of course they will!

Best format to make sure of a good picture is a TV with a screen.
