Hi Ross,
My kids (aged 8 & 11) and I applied our visas at the same time on separate applications and fees.
We were granted our visas on the 9th week of the said application with no interview at all,so don't worry as long as you'll satisfy all the documents needed by the embassy,you'll surely both be granted with visa.

hello Stuana thnak you for the reply..are your kids are from your english husband if so i assume you get there english passort..as they are british by descent..
or do you mean they are not british by descent..so it must be a settlement visa..
and what are the requrements they need in applying this..i hope you could give me some as you got through on it and my congartulate your sucees on getting they visa as well..any advice would be really great..
