Actually, if my missus can understand my monstrosity of an accent, she's doing well! Also, have an american friend who lives here in the same area as us and he's an african american who speaks very fast and in a strong ebonic slang, and my wife has done some translation on his behalf to his workers (he does building here).

So my missus is awesome at understanding natively spoken english

    as for speaking?

She's pretty darn good at it . . . yet when she makes mistakes she asks me to correct her!

Jim, please do not be discouraged that your intro. has been 'hijacked' by a thoroughly offensive person. We are a great family here and I dare say that the bosses will not put up with this person for much longer.

Again, welcome and enjoy your time here.

Anyway, it was more beer fuelled

    besides the "funding" came from:

1)The house that I own in a major university city in the UK had tenants for the last 10 months, they have moved out a week ago. That was the money for budget.

2)My savings for working 70+ hours a week for a year before I left for the Philippines.

Also, AJ, not that I need to justify myself, but, I will be living on the dole for a couple of weeks, but I already got my job tentatively "lined up", and if it falls through, my previous employer said he'd be happy to have me back.

    So, bleh.

Yet, as many have said already, if the government sees fit to award me JSA, then why should I not take it for the short time I am unemployed?

Do you really object to people having a good!! Who said this is what he was doing? did he? no I don't think so.
You object to the bigger age differences, now this.
For you know he could of been in the 40% tax bracket b4 he went out there and I'll have you know, most of us working class never claim any benefits and going by the amount of posts your making there is not much chance of gainful employment there.

    Get off peoples back huh

    Welcome to the forum Jim.

I suppose all forums do have a resident controversial troll, until tolerance runs out....

Sorry to be late in welcoming you aboard.

I hope I can be helpful to others - especially when it's about questions relating to living in the Philippines, and I know that this forum will help a lot to increase my knowledge for bringing my asawa to the UK.

So, for now, I'll wrap up this introduction, and I am glad to be here on this forum.
