Where we are now and why we have certain mentality, attitude or whatever you call it is because of what we inherited from Spanish-American colonisation.
It takes time to develop a country, it takes years to civilise people.
The ancient world has been blended with mix culture for centuries, it was a melting pot of different culture where the history has been built, where civilisation started and the society that evolves is what we are living now...

Our history is only a mere period in compare to what your country has been through for centuries...

Hi Pea, thanks for commenting in my thread.

I have read some of Filipino history, although I don't pretend to know much about it.

Indeed, many things in what I have listed have their roots in colonisation, but the process of civilisation could easily take it's course. I mean, are you blaming the having 6 children whilst earning 200 peso and disregarding family planning clinics on - the Spaniards, or, the Americans? Let's get real. There's no excuse for ignorance in this modern world.

It's easy to blame things on others, but much harder to shoulder responsibility for those things ourselves.

I would love to start another thread - Pilipinas Kong Mahal - why are you proud to be a Filipino - although, I am not qualified to open that.

The fact that Philippines is uncivilised with all it's exposure to the outside world can be attributed not to those you wish to blame.

You seem cultured and intelligent, therefore it can be done, you weren't a victim!
