Hi folks,

My lovely fiance and I get married in June

However, I was wondering if its possible to book the FLR appointment.......for a date after we are married........... in advance......ie before we are married?

Hmm ... logically, one would've thought so - especially since you've set the date for your wedding - but I couldn't say for certain. Had you been planning on using the fast-track method [same day service]?

Yes we plan to use the Premium in person service for the FLR

Also, I know that my Fiance can work once we are married and have the FLR but I read in another post that Fiance can work once married and FLR appointment is made?

Is that correct, or do we need to wait until FLR is in place before my fiance gets a job?

you would need the ID before your fiancee can start working... most employers would ask for proof of eligibility to work here... i have been asked to bring my passport and the ID when I went to my job interviews... but, even while waiting for the FLR result, I was already applying online..

if your going to use the premium service at a PEO (Public Enquiry Office) you can try and book an appointment but you might not be able to get the dates you want, but you must marry and apply for FLR before your fiancée visa expires.

you are not suppose to work until you have been granted FLR, and you'll only know that when you get your passport back. working without the permission to work is a serious offence, so dont do it

once you have FLR you can go and apply for jobs, and apply for a National insurance number, you can ask employers who doubt your right to work to contact UKBA who have a service where employers can check if people have the right to work
