Goin to submit my settelment application in 2weeks, I'm also exempted for the english language test coz my husband is serving the british armed forces under part 7 of immigration rules. I also have a 4 yrs old daughter does she need to go with me at the visa center for biometrics are is she exempted for it? And does we also need to submit the sponsorship undertaking form? really need some details im so mixed emotions for it.thank you

I don't think you need to submit the sponsorship undertaking form if its not listed in the checklists of documents you need to submit.

no sponsorship undertaking shouldn't apply to a spouse visa app
I have been told that a two year visa aplication would be a better bet rather than a family visa for say 6 months can anybody advise on this matter

I have also been told that its best if you require the 2 year settlement visa to get profesional help in completing the forms however they are so costly, can anybody advise on this matter also as at the moment I am getting a bit stressed out and worried about my wife comming to the uk

we were married last april and originally I was to retire and move to the philippines but now with house prices falling and pension useless I have to continue working untill age 65 so we decided that a first visit on a family visa would be best but now after consulting a specialist in the field of visa aplicationd he told me that a family visa would have a better chance of failure rather than the 2 year settlement visa

if your married there is a chance a family visit visa will be refused for your wife because the embassy will not believe she will return to the phils b4 her visa expires, and your applying for the wrong type of visa, your married and she should be applying for a spouse (settlement visa), even if she did get a visa, she could only stay a max of 6 months...

and is it ok that he is just sending a photocopy of his passport but he didnt go to an issuing authority like a solicitor to authenticate it.

hes overdrawn on all his bank statements he sent you ? I dont think the embassy will take notice of the car as an asset, as the embassy want to see he has the finances to support you so you will not need recourse to public funds, that means money in a bank account.thank you
has he not sent you evidence of any savings in a bank account ?
it would have been better if the photocopy was certified as true, but many people don't and have got their visa , so it shouldn't be a problem..
Thanks for the help and links I did not know you paid so much for the visa how nieve I am looks like £750 for the settlement visa and no refund if visa is rejected. My wife and I decided to try the family visit visa because we believed it would be to hard for her to come on the settlement visa and I could not take a chance on her being refused,my biggest concern is our age gaps she is 28 years old and I am 55 years old.I think I will ask her to join this forum so she can see for herself the things involved with the visa aplication,theres this life in the uk test biometrics and a language test sounds so difficult makes me want to pack up my things and move to the Philippines.

Im ruth.......basically I'm applying for a spouse visa too w/ my son bieng a dependant......besides i have to pay same fee for a visa for him.......did you manage to get a brit passport to ur daugher here in phil or ur using fil passport for her?hmmmmm i was confused in this info right now.
i had my english exam last feb already as im not exempt being my hubby is just working in a aircraft company as estimator.

I had been told from the phil brit embassy that its better to explain for not providing the original documents other than submitting false document so instead of photocopies itself BUT
needs to pass certified true copies like the passport stamp pages on my husband stating the dates he went in phil and went back to the uk..............i only have his scan pages then printed would this be legal or acceptable?
if not where can i get this certified copies done........hmmmmmmmmmm
if your spouse visa is refused you will have a right to an appeal, many appeals are won,,
age shouldn't be a problem, just have lots of evidence your relationship is genuine, some savings? and a job ? then you shouldn't have any problems getting a visa..
update on my settelment application: i lodged my application last may 12 then i got an emailstating: Your visa will be despatched shortly. Passports can normally be collected from the Visa Application Centre after 3 days. Applicants in Australia and New Zealand should allow 3 days before tracking their documents via the local post. UKBA-Manila Visa Hub..... Is this mean i already do have a visa already? guys im reallysooo nervous...
