I'm just providing the facts.
It's a means-tested benefit. Doesn't need any contributions.
If anyone wants more info on Pension Credit look here.
Here is an interesting extract:-
You can apply for Pension Credit on your first day of residence if you can show that:
•you have returned to the Common Travel Area (UK, Irish Republic, Jersey, Isle of Man, Guernsey) and you were previously habitually resident there; or
•you or a member of your family is a national of (and has worked in) another European Economic Area (EEA) state.
The EEA comprises Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, UK, Iceland, Norway and Leichenstein.
As an aside this person's claim was rejected for not meeting all of the requirements.
Just how many other migrants from EU are currently claiming UK Pension Credit is unknown. My guess is that it's quite a number.
