I think it is just an expolitive rip off day. I hate buying cards, not just because I feel they are a waste of money, but I am sure I can come up with a way to tell my asawa in person how I feel in a much more romantic and personal way, not some mass produced rubbish.
If you want to buy flowers on the days around Valentines Day the prices double, everyone is running around trying to buy a present which normally isn't wanted or appreciated, and why?? because we are being brainwashed into thinking that this is the thing we should do.
I would like to take my asawa out for a nice meal in a quiet pub (or KFC but there isnt one around where I live) but I hate the over commercialisation of these types of days. bah-humbug!!!
