Exactamundo Graham...I said that in my initial post on this thread....ie..doesn't need much training to read a passport ...lets be honest, any ol numty could do that...and as for employers upsetting a possible employee by asking for his passport well, like you said, its what they are mean't to do.

Try opening a bank account and telling them it's upsetting being asked for proper ID...

I had to present my passport to the GP surgery here when I first signed up with them.
