I think i am right in saying the Nazis started thier hate campaign against the Jews by first making people believe it was funny to poke fun at their mannerisms etc. what started as humour quickly escalated to a full blown hate campaign of segregation, starvation, persecution and deaths on a massive scale not since (thankfully) repeated.

There is nothing humorous or funny about racism.

Clearly this video and one like it are circulated by the BNP. If forum members find it funny and think politicians need to be aware of its content then maybe they would also like to vote BNP. Personally its the last thing i would want but we live in a democratic society so please go ahead.

For the record i welcome views questioning the sanity of open door immigration and our crazy system for asylum seekers...BUT there is a right way and wrong way to bring about change to this...and Racism isnt the answer however humorous forum members might find it.

Perhaps you can enlighten us on the right way because the 3 main parties have been in power in the last 10 years and none of them seems to have the balls to tackle the problem.
Yep the video was probably made by a racist but I viewed it and ddidn't find it funny, but take the same view as Dedworth, its a parody of whats going on in this country today.

The core issue has been going on a bit longer than that. One could argue that it goes back as far as the first world war when the Indian folk were fighting for us. etc etc

    Also....

"Following the end of the Second World War, the British Nationality Act 1948 was passed to allow the 800 million subjects in the British Empire to live and work in the United Kingdom without needing a visa. These people filled a gap in the UK labour market for unskilled jobs and many people were specifically brought to the UK on ships such as the Empire Windrush."

Our immigration problems are also linked to the more distant past.

I see the problems as much more recent. My parents along with many other immigrants came to this country in the 1950's to work and build a better life for themselves.
What we have now with current immigration and asylum policies and the free movement of people within the EU is people making a decision to come to this country to make a better life for themselves AT OUR EXPENSE. It's wrong and its unsustainable if it continues as it is.

Agreed. But don't agree with a racist approach. I sincerely hope that nobody adopts that (in the video) approach towards my wife. And I can see how easily such folk could relate to the first video and include her too. Such folk are not always discerning about someones origin and normally generalise and as such I see the video as potentially harmful and devisive. We on the forum know the difference between a Filipina on a Spouse visa and a scrounging chap from the Indian subcontinent but not all racists are that enlightened or care.

Yes. All the more reason to be aware that modern day racists could so easily vent their anger / focus on Indians / Pakistanis / Philippinos etc etc I dont imagine they ask to see ones passport before they commit a racially aggravated offence....
