Romanians' mixed feelings over working abroad

good news for dedworth, but i don't believe it gov said only 20,000 poles would come, 1m came

From the end of 2013, Bulgarians and Romanians will be free to work across the European Union. These countries have substantial populations - about 27 million in all. Many in Britain worry that there will be a new influx of migrants, particularly from Romania, but observers within the country are more sanguine.

Not in the normal sense of the word work Graham although they keep themselves occupied in the UK stealing, begging, flogging the Big Issue, ATM skimming etc

Another example of immigration benefiting the country

Eric Pickles is skirting around direct questions on Sunday Politics,he said the government have a guesstimate on how many romanians will come in a years time, but he wont make public the figure in case its wrong he isnt being drawn into a debate on how much pressure their arrival will also put on an already pressured housing market

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

Yes, but what he did say was that any influx of migrants from Bulgaria and Romania would put a huge strain on housing which is already in crisis.

I simply despair at the stupidity and shortsightedness of the set of clowns supposedly running this country...or should that be RUINING it.

A responsible Govt , looking after it's own citizens, would put a stop to them coming in and start shipping out the rubbish

You have to remember the same was said about poland, only a few coming in,blah...blah..blah BUT as was estimated this morning we have approx 750,000 here the army of romanians and bulgarians marching towards these sceptered isles will make the poles invasion look like a trickle

One of my children has gone to Sweden, the other to New York.

What is there for them here ? Uncontrolled hoardes of cheap labour and criminals from all over Europe, terrorists living amongst us and we're not allowed to eject them, 1 in 5 of under 25s unemployed, £30,000 of debt after you finish university and then no public housing or at least £20,000 deposit needed to buy a house ?

Big Wates contract to upgrade social housing in our area at the moment. Every worker on the job is Eastern European apart from the bosses. I was talking to a Romanian plasterer the other day and he was pleased with all the work he was getting. All price work and he's got 8 units to do himself this week.
Lives with his friends who are all on the job in a place in Dagenham. His wife and daughter are staying in Romania and he goes back a couple of times a year.
This is the problem with this country cheap labour undercutting our own building workers.
Now think about it and you might understand why this Government just stand back and do nothing. They just don't care because the shareholders/owners of Wates are earning max profit on contracts like this by avoiding employing British workers.

You wonder how Romanians qualify for building trade work under these so called "Accession Worker" rules

Thieving and/or paying zero tax can make your money go further, especially when you reduce housing costs by sharing with 26 other people in an illegal extension in someone's back yard.
