    Schenegen Visa

    Hi guys,

Hope someone can help me with this please.

I wanna visit like Paris, Rome and other country here in Europe but at the moment I have ILR I understand that this kind of residence permit I need to apply visa to go other countries even its under European Union Countries but my question here is my marriage certificate has no red ribbon but ive got it stamp from Philippine Embassy in London. Is it gonna affect my application if im going to apply for Schenegen Visa. I'm going to apply British Citizenship by June 2013 but I can't wait for that I need holiday..

Your help is very much appreciated... Best Wishes everyone...

It will be easier to have British Passport first but since you cant wait to have your holiday,.search for our topics regarding Schengen Visa.

Thank you for your reply. I need to be patient at this time and I guess it's worth to wait until I have British passport. all I need to do is less shopping and save money by now.

There's nothing stopping you from applying for a Schenghen Visa under ILR
    What are you worried about?

Yes ... unfortunately you WILL need to obtain a Schengen Visa, since you haven't yet acquired British Citizenship.

Tbh ... it can be a bit of a hassle ... but, at least it's issued free of charge to the married partners of British Citizens.

Further information may be had by using the 'Search' facility - in the rectangular box located at the extreme RIGHT of the bluish coloured bar running along the top of this page and typing in the words "Schengen Visa" accordingly - as suggested by Sars.

My worries is my wedding certificate... Got married in the Philippines and they are asking about red ribbon to be done in the Philippines but I didn't know that before. (IGNORANCE IS A GOOD EXCUSE) and I ask Philippines Embassy in London there answer was they can't do it here but they can stamp my marriage contract to be signed and seen but I'm not 100% sure that they will accept it when I apply schenegen visa.

I think you're worrying too much about the red ribbon.

We're just helping you with the answer to your question.

If you want to wait until you have a British Passport that's OK too.

...I'm going to apply British Citizenship by June 2013 but I can't wait for that I need holiday....
It will take some time to secure approval of the application. Next step is to attend the Citizenship Ceremony.
Following that you would need to apply for British passport, then attend the passport interview.
Everything takes time and money these days
With luck on your side you could expect that holiday August/September

    Good luck.

PS Even applications for a Schenghen visa can take time and cause stresses.

... ...well, it's entirely your choice. But ... as I've ALSO already pointed out ... it can be a bit of a hassle and, for the sake of a few months, surely it's worth waiting a little longer.

Besides, holidays in European countries don't come cheap - in spite of there being no charge for the Schengen Visa itself - and you would want to have adequate spending money while abroad.

Let's face it, you'll have to lay aside sufficient funds to cover the price involved [roughly £1,000] in applying for Citizenship.
