Whatever we think about the media reporting and the cases they choose.....the positive aspect is that at least the flawed immigration rules are being highlighted.

Most people have no idea.

There has been a case where someone was refused on being just pence under the income threshold on their weekly wage. I think this is one of those currently in the mix on the legal challenge yet to be decided.

I agree....the guy managed to come here on a 6 month visit visa...The government allowed him to stay 3 years until the problem was addressed..They were very lucky
The couple had time (3years) to sort out their problem...they didnt Lets be honest here..£18600 is not a princely sum If the will was there, she could have found better paying employment

As regards the couple's family income ... it ought to be borne in mind that there still remains a staggering 40 percent of the entire British workforce whose gross wage is less than £18,600 pa. ... how often must I repeat myself in this respect?

Why do these people don't understand the rules? It's clearly stated that you cannot apply for an extension with a visit visa. And why didn't he just go back to Turkey before his visit visa expired & apply a fiance visa instead of wasting their time on appeals? They think they can bend the rules just because they already have kids here. It's their fault they're having this problem and I have no sympathy for them.

Folks should live according to their means. If they want more then they shoild plan ahead and not expect expect expect for others to keeep bailing these irresponsible people out.
