Ah ... it'll all be familiar to you, then.

Thanks for your response ... I'm particularly interested in Tagum, as that's where my wife came from!

Tagum has changed so much over the last ten years. Never used to see a white man, now they are everywhere More shopping malls than you can point a stick at.

By coincidence, my wife and I both said the same last Friday as we stopped over there. What a huge difference.
We often pass through but haven't stopped over and spent time there in more than 15 years. Just hard to believe how the small town on a dusty road has been transformed.

And they are building more shopping malls, a new Grand Mall down the road from the old one, and a new Robinsons about 20 mins out of town on the highway.

Hi jonnijon, I'm back in the relative safety of Pantukan right now. We'll be going to Tagum tomorrow to stock up the store.
Seems not many folks go to Davao City these days.

Despite the obvious issues I'd rather like to settle hereabouts.

I passed through there on the way from Butuan to Davao. I was quite impressed, and there was alot of shopping malls.

Did you take the Bachelor Bus ?
I was fearful at first after all the stories, but really enjoyed the experience and felt relaxed returning to Davao City after our previous, never to be repeated experience with AC Van.

I've never been to that night market.

I've been to the public market a few times.
    Massive place.
Always enjoy the markets, so interesting to see just what you can buy.

Must have missed your post Peter, we are in San Miguel, about 10 mins drive out of the city. Very nice and peaceful.

    San Miguel, that sounds good.

I'll take a look on the map and see where that is.

It's the name of the bus company
    They're all yellow colour buses.
Cheapest is what they call regular. Bit basic and most look they came straight from the junk shop.
Most expensive (although still cheap) are the air-con delux with free on board WiFi.
    Great value

There's a bus called 'Del Norte Fighters'
I've ridden that one a couple of times at night. Most interesting rides so far.
They're a few levels down from basic and always jam packed, but I've enjoyed so much. Windows open, music at full blast and some great folks on board.
