Did you need the life skills to apply for your intial visa to stay in England or was it just ILETS? Good luck with your FLR application. I'm sure you will be fine but sometimes it's just a right pain going through it all.

Not [initially] for either the Fiance(e) or Spousal Visas, Phil ... but the 'Knowledge Of Life In The UK Test' will need to be taken - and passed - before becoming eligible to apply for one's Permanent Residence/ILR.

Thanks Arthur. Is it advised to do this as the same time as the ILETS test or shall we just do it closer to the time of applying for residency?

Sorry for the late response. I think there's a bit of confusion here. The time I applied for my initial visa, I used TOEIC certificate (which is not acceptable now) and that's why I needed to take this IELTS LIFE SKILLS for the application of my FLR(M).

IELTS Life Skills is a test of Speaking and Listening, available at CEFR Levels A1, A2 and B2. It is designed to meet the requirements of UK Visas and Immigration for certain visa categories and other immigration purposes. ---This is the one your fiance will need to take.

The Life in the UK Test is a test constituting one of the requirements for anyone seeking Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK or naturalisation as a British citizen. ---and you don't have to worry about this one yet.
