I think that's the point really. If the British Embassy, after all of their checks, has granted you fiancee visa, then the CFO will assume that they, the British Embassy are confident that your fiance is single and so they will then accept that as a fact on that basis.
Iain.
What rubbish this person at the CFO is speaking. We never needed anything for our visa relating to my fiance's single status.
The UK seems unconcerned with the singleness of its citizens. We were told a CNI is the only possible document someone in the UK can obtain from the authorities, and that is to marry foreigners, and only where the foreign country demands proof to allow local marriage.
How can they say there is such a requirement for CFO if it does not appear on their official requirements list? Perhaps if the lady at CFO is such an expert of UK singleness forms, she can tell you exactly the name of the form and its reference?
I'm sorry but this process is complicated and a nightmare enough, without officials dreaming up extra impossible requirements.
Good luck!
I was required to attend the cfo seminar even before we apply for visa because i am going to renew my passport first. We cannot proceed with our visa application if i don't renew my pasport and DFA will not issue a new passport not until i attend the cfo seminar and counseling.
The lady at the cfo said if i can produce a CENOMAR, then why my fiance cannot? I was really getting angry at her but i controlled myselfotherwise she might not give me the certificate of attendance lol. Obviously she dont know what shes talking about its pointless to argue.
The important thing now is i got the cfo certificate and we can proceed with our visa application and renew my passport.![]()
I'm just wondering, if you are single and want to apply for a passport or renew your passport, why don't you just say for "travel purposes". You don't have to tell them that you are going to join your fiance abroad. That way you don't need to go to CFO first. Just a thought tho.
Faith makes all things possible.
makes them easy.
