Learning Tagalog?

There are loads of learning materials. If you are still in the Philippines, have a look in National Bookstore. You can try the books kids use when they are just starting to learn to read and speak English because there are translations there but obviously you have to do it the opposite way.

There are youtube videos of Learning Tagalog too. Free and worth a listen.

Personally I think it's annoying not to know what people are talking about and when I use translators, like google's, I'm always afraid to say something stupid like "you mom is a goat" or something like that. I once tried to use the google translator and told the wife that she should give my regards to the family there. I'm not sure What I said, but I could hear in her voice that she was struggling not to cry of laughter, and I could hear her sisters in the background giggling
