I'll grant you *THAT! Now then, Mister 'ubbard ... [as they'd say in Yorkshire] ... when I were t'age you are, there was nowt stoppin' a young un wi' bit o'ambition! Alas, times 'ave changed:

Apart from the "crunch", the past four decades have witnessed hitherto almost unbelievable advances in technology ... thereby doing away with jobs previously carried out by skilled/semi-skilled - and, particularly, unskilled labour. Lump this together with the various *incentives offered by successive governments - *actively encouraging an upsurge in the number of married women returning to the workplace ... immediately following statutory maternity leave - and it can be easily seen WHY there are far fewer opportunities available.

It's good that your wife is a doctor, because after she hears what you say on here, she's gonna deck you ... and you'll need a doctor!

It's a very cash rich company who can do that sort of thing.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful encouragement. I really appreciate everything.

As for owning my own house ... that's how I was able to live in the Philippines for a year - I had tennants.

But now, I'm back living in my house. It's a 4 bedroom house that's fairly spacious. I am very priveleged - at my age - to own this.

This means that even if I do eventually end up with a job that doesn't pay a huge amount, my living expenses are really small.

Own house, no mortgage, Own car - no monthly payments, cheap insurance, cheap to fuel. It'll be a beautiful life when I have my job and my wife here, then ... life will be great we need NOTHING else

Again, thanks to everyone for the help and the nice words

Well then ... there you go! It all looks promising. Once again, Good Luck tomorrow.

Oh ... and if you've still to meet-up with *Scott & Ligaya, kindly pass on my good wishes. As regards the *shared curry you mentioned on another thread ... ... I imagine it'll be YOUR treat, if everything goes according to plan (which it WILL, I'm sure) jobwise. After all you've had good experience *with working abroad, and all. *Not bad for a 27-year-old!

Well done James, excellemt news just before christmas

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.
