my sister (our youngest) died on 23rd of decemer 2007... it was a sudden death, so it's very diffucult till now.. she died of an asthma attack.. we were on our way home from the farm (it's in a remote area therefore no big hospitals nearby) when she had her attack... we were still laughing and had a wonderful time swimming in the brook in our farm.. then came her attack when we were walking to the car... she asked if we can pass by the health center as she needs a nebulator.. her spray is not helping her breath apparently... the health centre's oxygen tank and nebulator are both defective.. oh well, i don't want to relieve it all again... so so painful to remember her dying in my arms...

she's our youngest and she's naturally sweet... very thoughtful, loving and caring... she loves christmas and she always decorates our christmas tree and helps me cook christmas dinner for the family...

after her death, our christmases are never the same... the christmas tree wasn't up for christmas 2008 as my mom doesn't want to celebrate it... we just went straight to bed after attending mass... but before i left for the UK, i made sure the christmas tree is up this year as we have our little 3-year old nephew running about the house and would like to experience christmas... i just hope that my mom didn't bring it down when i left for the UK...

oh well... such is life.. onward we all go after a tragedy...

Florge, I'm so sorry to read your post. It's always particularly harrowing when a young person dies unexpectedly. At least my parents were elderly, and my first wife had been in poor health for many years ... sad though those losses were!

I do hope your mom keeps the Christmas tree up ... for the wee boy's sake!

Hi Arthur, yeah it is sad. She was 24, and had so many dreams. Top student in law school too...

My mom just told me that they're planning to put up the christmas lights at the gate today... I'm glad... they're expecting their grandson's visit soon...

i guess at christmas,it just makes it seem worse.

sadly there will be many unexpected deaths in the run up to christmas and the new year

we should just try to support those who are in need

The time to worry is when the oddly dressed guy carrying a scythe is knocking at your door and you realise you dont have any grass to cut as you live on the 12'th floor of a tower block or something similar :reaper:An old lady once told me death is god coming down to harvest people as he has places vacant in heavenI really do hope when its my turn he is like those Blackpool guesthouses with "No Vacancies" signs displayed in the window

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

xmas has been a sad tiome for me for years ,always seems to be something to make me depressed on the run up to it. last year i didnt even feel like getting out of bed on xmas day,but you have to keep going for the kids. xmas day 2000 i had a call from cheltenham hospital my mother wouldnt last the night could i come in next day so i said yes. what they really wanted me for was to get my permission to take her off life support, which i did. my wife was very sorry but she admitted to having an affair and was leaving me great xmas !! this year will be the best in more than ten years by far, i hope you all have a great festive season
