One of my extended family members worked in a contact centre in Marikina City.
She lived in our house for two years.
Starting salary was P14k per month
after 6 months she was getting P21k per month
after 14 months promoted to supervisor at P30k
She had a number of smaller promotions really quite rapidly.
She left the company after working there for two years with a final salary of P43k

Staff turnover is very high, but if you stick at the benefits are good.
She had a really super salary. She told us that most Americans and Australians who were trainers and senior managers were on P50k or more.

To me that's just unbelievable as a salary in Phils.

Don't knock it! Life can be very very good.

my misses brother in law works on a ship, i think hes a first mate, gets paid good money, but then he's virtually working 24/7 for 6 months of the year, doesn't see his wife or kids for 6 months, divide what he gets for the hours he works and its not so good

i get paid less, but 8hrs of work i'm off home to little joe and the misses

Joe, I can't give you the answer to that question, I just don't know.
She worked a lot of hours, but the amount was fixed around a sort of 3shift system.

My main point was that if you can stick the job, you can get great rewards in a contact centre.

I understand well the point you make though. I was Engineering Director on a fixed salary. Overall I worked an average of maybe 50-60 hours per week. Sometimes weekends working at the office. I also travelled a great deal, away from home. I think some of my Applications Engineers got more per hour than me.
It's not always about ££'s per hour and hours per week. I had so much fun too
