But it seems like this story is having the opposite effect to that which the Daily Mail intended. I've never really rated Ed Miliband, but he's gone up in my estimation with his response to this. That also seems to be the general reaction in other sections of the media.

That's a very small percentage of the total of people on benefits (on JSA and over 2 years unemployed).

I'm sure the Tories (not that I vote for them) will come up with plenty of sweeteners too, before the election.

Late or living I think it makes no difference all politicians have no shame in wheeling out the relatives, wives, children etc. It is fact that Millipedes Father was a classic champagne marxist living a comfortable life in his N London mansion (passed down to the current Millipdes via various inheritance tax dodging trust funds).
