its a really bad word... parents would sometimes slap their children if they hear that word from their mouth. When you hear someone say that, it means they are really angry at you...

translation: your mother is a bi**h

i hope everything will be alright with you and your wife...

Yes ... I'd just verified it with my wife when I found Jam had already beaten me to it. Literally translated, it's equivalent to the American expression "Son of a bitch!"

Hello Deck! Yes, it's a bad word - something I never uttered and something I will never want to hear nor say even as a joke. Some utters this as an expression of disgust or just a tease really and some as members here replied, it is something told - when one is really angry.

To translate, it means "youre mum is a whore" ...

Well, I hope you're both okay after that ...

The difficulty of dealing with different cultures...
Living in the english speaking world, allows people to infer different meanings for the same awful sounding words, depending upon the situation and the way the insult was delivered.

... WE in the 'west' tend to use the expression somewhat more lightly; it "trips" off the tongue, and - more often than not - we think no more about it. From OUR point of view, at least, it's certainly not [usually] intended to imply that the mother of the person to whom it is directed is a whore!

Hello Arthur Little! Yes. I also believe those who used the expression/uses the expression doesn't mean to imply the real meaning of it ...

I just translated the word and to put the spelling of those words rightly - here -

"Puta ang ina mo" or "Putang Ina Mo" ...

If a british husband mentioned bad words, the impact is not that worse.
But if a filipina wife mentioned bad words, it has awful impact and worst!

    Matunog ba ang arrive deckard97f?

Yes Angel Joe and Born@! I advise you to keep silent if you're in bad mood.
If a filipina learned to swear, malutong na malutong. Sore to your ears! and you'll just say? excuse me? say it again?
